Amy Schwede Beicker is the author of Main Street Mockingbirds. She lives in Fredericksburg, Texas, with her husband, Clint, and their three children. 

The creation of the book was a group project that came about with the help of talented collaborators like her mother, Diana Irene Schwede, who illustrated the book. The story brings history to life and encourages families to explore Fredericksburg through the eyes of mockingbirds.
